Built to show the number, not to sell you something
- Your state comes first. The first field is where you work, and each state and province has its own page. The first line of the result says which taxes apply there.
- The answer appears as you type.Salary, place and pay frequency are enough. 401(k), pension, super, student loan and other deductions wait in a closed "More deductions" panel.
- Compare two scenarios side by side.A raise, a move from California to Texas, or 6% versus 10% in your 401(k): both results on one screen, and the link keeps both.
- Hours to paycheck in one step.Add up your time card, then send the total hours straight to the hourly paycheck calculator for your state.
- "After tax" pages with their own breakdown.£40,000 after tax, $60,000 salary to hourly: each page shows income tax, NI or CPP, and net pay per month and week.
- Tax year, source and date on every result. For example: "Tax year 2026 · IRS Publication 15-T (2026) · Texas Comptroller · checked September 29, 2026". Every table change is logged on the changelog.
- Light, quiet pages. No sign-up, no pop-ups, no consultant forms. Ads stay outside the calculator.
- Tax tables you can download.State rates, standard deductions and payroll limits by year, as CSV files under an open licence.
- An embed for small businesses.Payroll teams, accountants and staffing agencies can place the calculator on their own site.

Every figure has a source
Netpaysum is run by an independent editor. The calculators follow the official withholding formulas for each country — IRS Publication 15-T and each state's revenue department in the US, HMRC in the UK, the ATO in Australia, and the CRA and Revenu Québec in Canada — and are tested against the official examples before a table goes live. When a table changes, the changelog says what changed and when.
