Who runs it
Netpaysum is run by an independent editor. It is not a payroll company, a bank, an accountancy firm or a government site, and it is not affiliated with the IRS, any US state, HMRC, the ATO, the CRA or Revenu Québec.
The site has no sales team and nothing to sell you: no consultations, no sign-up, no lead forms.
What the calculators do
Each calculator applies the official withholding method for its country and tax year to the numbers you enter, and shows the result line by line: income tax, social contributions (Social Security and Medicare, National Insurance, CPP/QPP and EI, the Medicare levy), and the deductions you choose to add. Under every result you will see the tax year, the source table and the date the table was last checked.
The result is an estimate of withholding from your pay. It is not a tax return and it cannot see everything your employer's payroll sees.
How pages are reviewed
- Source first. Every rate, threshold and cap comes from a named official publication for a named year. No figure is typed in from memory or copied from another calculator.
- Tested against official examples. Before a table goes live, the calculator is run against the worked examples and calculators published by the tax authority, and the results are recorded as test cases.
- Dated. Each page shows when its table was last checked.
- Logged. Every change to a table or formula is written on the changelog, with the date and the source.
- Corrected in public. If a result is wrong, the fix and the date appear on the changelog. Reports go to hello@netpaysum.com.

How the site is paid for
Netpaysum shows ads from Google AdSense. Ads are kept outside the calculator and never change a result. There are no affiliate links in the calculators and no paid placements. See the privacy policy for what the ads and analytics collect.
